How to put your habits on your Lock Screen
trak draws your progress as a calendar, and an iPhone shortcut puts that image on your Lock Screen — refreshing on its own every night. It takes about 5 minutes to set up.
Before you start
- An iPhone running iOS 26 or later
- The trak app installed, with at least one habit created
- The Shortcuts app (it comes with your iPhone — if you deleted it, download it again from the App Store)
Create habits and generate the wallpaper
In trak, add the habits you want to track and generate the wallpaper by picking a style (year calendar, monthly grid, spiral, and so on) and a palette. The app saves that image — it's the one the shortcut will use.
Add the shortcut
Open the official trak shortcut on your iPhone and tap Add Shortcut.
Open the “Atualizar Wallpaper trak” shortcut ↗Create the daily automation
This is what makes the Lock Screen refresh on its own. In the Shortcuts app:
- Open the Automation tab (in the bottom bar).
- Tap + (top right) — the New Automation screen opens.
- Choose Time of Day, set it to 12:05 AM and Daily. Continue.
- Add the Run Shortcut action and select Atualizar Wallpaper trak.
- Leave Run Immediately turned on (instead of Run After Confirmation) and finish.
Why 12:05 AM? Because just after midnight your Lock Screen already reflects the new day.
Test it now
Don't wait until midnight to find out whether it worked. Open the Atualizar Wallpaper trak shortcut and tap it to run once. The first time, your iPhone may ask for permission to change the wallpaper — allow it.
Then go to your Lock Screen and check: your habit calendar should be there. From here on, it updates on its own every night while you sleep.
Something went wrong?
The wallpaper didn't change. Run the shortcut manually once (Step 4). If your iPhone asked for permission and you denied it, go to Settings › trak / Shortcuts and grant access.
The automation doesn't fire. In the Automation tab, check that it's enabled and that “Run Immediately” is on — otherwise your iPhone just sends a notification instead of changing the wallpaper.
I renamed the shortcut by accident. Rename it back to Atualizar Wallpaper trak, or reinstall it from the link in Step 2 and redo the automation.
